This Heidenhain adapter cable is used to connect from the reader head of the Heidenhain LS 487, LS 187, LS 388C, LS 688C to a 12 pin M23 coupling. If you are installing an LS 487 or LS 187 into an application which had an old 11 micro amp encoder such as an LS 603 or LS 704. You would need to use this cable along with Heidenhain part# 364914-01 so that you can plug directly into your existing cabling.
